Trimbach is a renowned family winery which has a history that dates back to 1626. Not many wineries have such an in depth history and not many wineries have remained in the same family for so long, but the Trimbachs are still in charge and passionate about wine cultivation and production.

Maison Trimbach is best known for its dry and steely Rieslings and the mineral edge of their wines. With its years of bottle age, this wine has taken on a medium gold colour in the glass and the nose shows complex development as the primary lychee fruit segues into beeswax and camomile. In the palate there are lush lemons and mouthfilling grapiness, tropical fruit and a hint of smoke.

Toasted nuts, marzipan and salinity underscore the peach and apple fruit here. A hint of honey adds nobility and relatively high acidity adds primary juiciness in the long, fascinatingly smoky, nutty, and mineral finish.
One of the noblest of the Alsace grapes, Pinot Gris produces a full, heady, rich and lush wine in Trimbach�s hands. It is technically dry, but the style is so fruity and full, with such a long palate that the illusion of sweetness is maintained. Watch out too for a smokiness on the finish. Its great depth is balanced by a crisp acidity that gives structure and longevity.

This Pinot Noir shows a very good fruit in the nose (straberries, cherry) still young and will of course get softer and fruitier. One drinks Pinot Noir cool in Alsace, around 14-15 C.
