Grapes for this wine is harvested from a 53 year old single vineyard of Chenin blanc on the slopes of the Bottelary Hills, hence the number on the front of the bottle referring to age of the vines in the year the wine was made.
Pinotage is probably the grape with the most potential for development and improvement in South Africa. If it is grown correctly and vinified correctly, it becomes an interesting wine with lots of depth and flavour
The nose shows spicy mocha flavours and some vanilla notes derived from the addition of American oak. The palate is rich and strong, filled with ripe fruit, pepper and hints of violets, cassis and dark chocolate; smoothed with subtle Merlot flavours and vanilla oak. And the name Simplicity? - Well, many great things are born from keeping it simple.
