Majella

Majella Wines is one of the most highly acclaimed small wineries in Australia. They are a proud family owned company based in the Coonawarra wine region which is South Australia. With such a prestigious region as their home they have been producing fantastic wines for many years.

It was in 1968 that they began planting their vineyard and in time this grew to a 60-hectare estate. Alongside their vineyards, sheep grazing still takes place on the remainder of their land and the family's history in the region allows them to continue to flourish. Majella began by producing a first run of around 600 cases of their Shiraz and they have continued ever since. Their high quality wines are notable for many reasons and they have remained true to their original production run and still offer exceptional Shiraz as well as Cabernet Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and some sparkling reds too.

Vibrant, unmistakably Coonawarra to smell and taste, bursting with flavours of blackcurrant, mulberry and herbs, and fine, elegant and juicy in the mouth. The wine is quite low in oak, with just a smidge of vanillin showing faintly on the mid palate, but otherwise the brambly, blackcurrant flavours demand all the attention.
