These bottles from La Cadence are ideal if you are looking for a bottle which will present something fresh and flavourful for a great price. We have a lot to thank for the Mediterranean climate which blesses so many areas with such excellent conditions for wine-making. These wines from La Cadence are part of a rich and world-renowned locality of wine-making.
Refreshing whites and reds
They are based in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France, an area which has been home to the wine-production game since Ancient Greeks got to work setting up vineyards near Narbonne in 5th century BC. The wines produced by La Cadence are generally bottled up as young wines, offering a light, fresh and highly drinkable and affordable option. Despite being smooth and lighter bodied, these wines do not lack flavour; at the same time, they do not overwhelm. As such, they would be a nice accompaniment with lunch. The red cozies up to beef and spices in a lovely fashion, and the white marries well with seafood and chilli based pasta dishes.
The grapes that are used in these La Cadence wines are Carignan and Ugni Blanc, respectively, for their red and their white. The Carignan grape perhaps does not get as much credit as it deserves these days. But this wine shows how to get it right - it is a grape after all which has had arguably most success in the Languedoc-Roussillon region.
Easy drinking yet nuanced
We are pleased to have both white and red wine produced by La Cadence in store. Their white wine is a Blanc de Blancs, and so does not have the heavier body we would associate with a Blanc de Noirs. It offers plenty of citrus fruit notes, and is perfect if you like a crisp, dry and refreshing taste. The Carignan red that we have from La Cadence is similarly not too heavy going, giving you a smooth and easy drinking fruity taste. Expect red berries which carry through on the palette in a subtle manner.
