This crackles with smoky spice, lifting from the glass with notes of cracked pepper, chilli seeds, tarragon, celery salt, bison grass, wet rocks, the first smoulder of lit autumn leaves and nuances of sweetly smoky fig backed up by a dry-toned cassis note. The palate has a lightly glycerol-like feel that is structured by chalky phenolics and relatively gentle but apparent acidity.
The nose bursts of citrus, almond, clove, delicate natural acidity and minerality. The wine is pure and lean with white flower and citrus aromas and some savory spiced oak complexity. Long and focussed on the palate, with refreshing natural acidity.
