This wine has a pure blackberry, raspberry and subtle briar bouquet that really blossoms in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit, grainy tannin, nice structure and gentle grip toward the almost nonchalant finish. Enjoy this over the next five to seven years.
The nose is nicely reserved in its mix of apple, lime, white flowers, a touch of menthol, beautiful chalky minerality and a whisper of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and quite solid at the core, with excellent mineral drive, bright acids and lovely focus and grip on the nascently complex and vibrant finish.
This is very detailed, displaying touches of graphite filtering through the black fruit. The palate is very well balanced with a fine line of acidity. There is a sense of symmetry toward the finish that is compelling.
