The Bogle Winery is a true family affair and their winery developed through a long farming traditional within the family. It was in 1965 that father and son Warren and Chris Bogle made the decision to plant 8 hectares of vines on their farmland in Clarksburg, California and they quickly saw success. Today they are the proud owners of over 14 different vineyard sites across California, mainly in the Delta region in the vicinity of Sacramento.
The Fine Wine Company has sourced a good range of quality Bogle wines to showcase the great quality, value branded style of their collection. Their range covers both light whites and deep, rich reds and their expansive farming region means they have been able to produce many different styles of wine from merlots to chardonnays. Their commitment is to offering good value as well as great flavour, in a market which they saw as offering only higher priced bottles. The market has changed somewhat since they launched their first products but the popularity of Bogle wines hasn't changed.
The inviting aroma suggests freshly slice pears and apples, while the delicately creamy entry gives way to reveal softer hints of baking spices like cloves and nutmeg. Topped with just a touch of butter, this integrated wine ends with a long, crisp finish.
Clarksburg has long been known as a remarkable place to grow Chenin Blanc. Crisp and refreshing, this wine begins with a surprising touch of fresh anise on the nose. Richer flavors of stone fruits like peaches and apricots balance the mouthfeel, while the soft and supple texture integrates the palate all the way through the honeyed finish.
Amazing aromas of fresh, ripened cherries and plums burst from this perfectly balanced Merlot. On the palate the full fruit leads beautifully into the complex finish: soft and silky, yet with firm tannins and spicy, smoky oak. Earth tones of pipe tobacco and leather round out the experience.
This supple and mouth-filling vintage leads with juicy raspberry and ripe boysenberry fruit. Hints of spiced chocolate integrate well with fruit that is surprisingly luscious and silky on the palate, partnered with black pepper backbone that gives structure and weight. Flavours of toasted oak and pipe tobacco create further structure, allowing this wine to stand up to a variety of hearty fare.
Full-bodied on the entry, aromas of black plum jam and toasty oak set the stage for what is to come. Vibrant boysenberries and luscious fruit are framed by serious tannins, while wisps of leather and vanilla seduce just enough. A final touch of acidity finishes the wine with a precisely balanced mouthfeel.
Deeply luscious and succulent blackberries, aromas of anise and sweet fig are embraced by touches of black pepper. Subtle notes of cloves and vanilla emerge and compliment the concentrated fruit character of the wine.
