“Beautifully lifted, spicy perfume on the nose, which reflects exactly the lovely, ripe, gentle-textured and very fresh palate. This is not a heavy Bordeaux: instead, it has superb finesse. First made in 1988, the Vieilles Vignes (old vines) cuvée of Château Lamothe-Cissac is produced only in the years with favourable weather from vines aged up to 70 years: allowing full expression of the character and intensity of the ‘terroir’. Delicious already, this will also develop complexity in the cellar over the next 8 years.
