Calatayud

Calatayud is an official Spanish Denominación de Origen located in the province of Zaragoza. The region covers around 5600 hectares of vineyard and it achieved DO status in 1990. It is the second largest quality wine-producing DO in Aragon and has a typically Spanish continental climate. Calatayud is primarily a red wine growing region, with red grapes accounting for around 83% of all plantings. The most common varietals grown as Garnacha tinta, Mazuelo, Tempranillo, Monastrell, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.
