Germany

The red wines of Germany are few and far between over here, though there popularity is growing and slowly but surely more offerings are entering the UK market. German red wines are grown across their 13 different regions and whilst we haven’t yet embraced how great they can be, locally produced red wine is outselling white in Germany itself.

Our range of German red wines has been selected to showcase some of the finest full-bodied flavours and give just a hint at what Germany can offer red wine drinkers. In Germany the Spätburgunder, or Pinot Noir, and Dornfelder are the two main red grape varietals used in Germany and they’re known for producing light, fruity reds with lower ABVs that you’re usually used to and only a slight tannin softness. The red wines in our collection are an example of the quality available and represent the flavours and production of Pfalz wineries, with a fresh fruity warmth.
