Victoria

The red wine of the Australian wine region Victoria stands out as it is an area known for its quality wine production, as opposed to mass-produced cheaper products. Victoria has over 600 wineries and wine has been produced in the region since the 19th century, experiencing a boom in the 1890s and then a resurgence in recent years.

At the Fine Wine Company we select a broad range of Victoria red wines to ensure that all palates and budgets are catered for. Winemaking in the region includes premium areas such as Heathcote and Rutherglen. They produce a wide range of bright, full-flavoured red wines using Shiraz varietals in many instances but also rarer pinot noir, graciano and tannat grapes. They are known for the strong full-bodied nature of their reds but also the production of fortified wines, close in flavour and style to Madeira. Diverse and varied in flavour there are plenty of Victoria red wines to choose from.
