Description

Dark, dark glass-staining purple colour. Aromas of blackcurrant cheesecake, liquorice, hot tar and kirsch open up reasonably quickly after pouring. Heady and intoxicating! Gentle in the mouth: velvety and elegant, although more of an edge of acidity and tannin than the 2012 at the same age. Not at all difficult to enjoy straight away, however. The alcohol is superbly-balanced with everything else that is happening on the palate, providing just a subtle warming effect rather than overt heat. The overall impression is of beautifully juicy, fresh fruit at perfect ripeness that has somehow become super-concentrated. An absolute classic.

FAULTY WINE

On the (extremely!) rare occasions you may discover a faulty wine, we will of course offer a full refund once returned. Please telephone on 0131 669 7716 or contact us for further details.

TASTING TICKETS

Please note that once we've despatched them, refunds can only be issued in the instance that we are able to resell your ticket(s).

BREAKAGES

Our transit boxes are designed to withstand most things, but wine does however sometimes break in transit. Parcel Force advises us if there are any breakages in a daily delivery audit of all parcels sent the previous day. We resend all breakages as soon as they tell us of any problems. It is, however, still very important that you let us know of any breakages once received so we can arrange replacement wine for you as quickly as possible. We will always replace any wine broken in transit, be it your own personal wine, or in wine gifts sent to your customers, staff, family or friends. Please always check both the number of parcels and the condition of any wines you sign for - as we cannot be held liable for any breakages once you have accepted and signed for them.

COOLING OFF PERIOD

Under the Distance Selling Regulations, you may cancel a distance contract to purchase a product or products from us at any time within 7 working days after the day you received the relevant product or products (subject to the limitations set out below).

In order to cancel a contract in this way, you must give to us written notice of cancellation. This can be done by email to sales@thefinewinecompany.co.uk quoting your order reference number, full name and address.

If you cancel a contract on this basis, you must promptly return the products to us, in the same condition in which you received them. Items must be returned in their original packaging and in re-saleable as new condition.

If you cancel a contract on this basis, you will be refunded in full the cost of the goods. However, we are unable to refund any initial outbound delivery charge you have paid, and you will be responsible for paying the cost of returning the product to us.

Please be mindful that until the product is safely returned to us it is your responsibility to ensure it stays in perfect condition. Returned items will be fully checked and photographed on return. Any items that are received by us in a damaged condition will not be eligible for return or refund, and any such items will be returned to you.

2011 was an extremely wet year in the Barossa Valley which was not conducive to the style and quality level required of the Cabernet Sauvignon used for Anaperenna nor the Grenache used for Wallace. As such I made the difficult decision not to release these wines. The Bishop Shiraz generally comes from soils with a high clay content and therefore suffered with excess water holding. Those parcels we…

Super saturated totally opaque inky black colour with very deep black crimson hue. The nose displays an impressive aromatic profile of blackberry, liquorice and dark plum followed by some vanillin confectionary, mocha and spice showing a touch more intensity than the Anaperenna at this stage of its early life. Imposing palate presence and richness, yet not over the top, combining finesse with powe…
