Though technically in France, Alsace's history and location on the border between France and Germany means that its wine is influenced by both countries. The wines of Alsace have characteristics of both countries and at The Fine Wine Company we have selected a range of Alsace wines which show of their finest characteristics and are available to different budgets and tastes.
Traditionally Alsace is a region which is known for its white wines and it offers a diverse mixtures of classically flavoured sweet Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer. There has also been a growing interest in the sparkling wines of the region and Alsace wines are particularly known of the ripeness of the fruit in their production and their moderate ABV, which tends to sit around the 14-15% mark. The dual influence on Alsace means that their wines stand out from other regions and with a wide range of producers and wineries there are offerings to suit different budgets, which you can explore below.

A beautiful and bright yellow with deep gold tint. The nose has complex flavours of fresh almond and rose, opening up to a nice touch of crystallized fruits and fresh grape. A deep and generous palate, with the elegant aromas of the nose. The balance is well set by the freshness and the sweetness is not dominant. Pale yellow with elegant silver green tints. The nose is straightforward, elegant and open, with nice hints of lemon, pear and verbena. The mouth is full, fresh and silky, with and unusual body for a Pinot Blanc. It is a dry wine, with any residual sweetness well balanced by a good level of acidity. The finish is long with an elegant aftertaste full of verbena and pear.
A deep pale yellow with elegant light gold tints. A straightforward and lightly smoky nose, open and complex with elegant hints of pear and fresh apricot. A good attack on the entry with a strong body. This typical medium dry Pinot Gris offers nice complexity full of the delicate flavours of the nose. The finish is long and elegant with nice aromas of smoke, apricot and a touch of caramel.
Straw yellow with elegant green-silver tints. The nose is very delicate, dominated by lime and grapefruit. The attack shows the same flavours, along with great body and balance. This dry Riesling is full and refreshing with a long aftertaste typical of wines from limestone soils
A pale yellow with delicate silver tints. The nose opens with complex notes of lemon, pear and fresh peach. The linear palate shows great attack, with a sharp freshness, typical for this great vintage. The flavours have the same complexity as the aromas, with a delicate finish dominated by lemon and pear.
A round and tempting wine which is straw yellow in colour. Elegant and flowery nose with hints of acacia and lime. A smooth and fresh palate echoing the exotic lime notes and a sweet fruit finish. A classy glass of Pinot Gris!
A golden yellow colour and a captivating rose, pickled mango and lychee aroma which is well balanced on the palate with a touch of residual sugar and excellent acidity. A surprisingly lengthy finish. Semi-dry!
A lemon-zest-inflected aroma rises from the glass and adds notions of mandarin. The palate keeps this ripe but tart citrus theme alive and presents ripeness and refreshing fruit. These notions continue all the way to the dry finish.
