Californian Red Wines

Since the 1976 "Judgement of Paris", where a private judgment of the latest Bordeaux and Napa wines in Paris saw the Californian wine triumph over its French competitor, this hub of New World wine had to be taken seriously, and fast. After that, a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon scored 100 points in 1985 from a world-renowned Bordeaux critic. The network of power and influence once again shifted. By now, this may be old news. What ought to be considered, though, is how it is not just the Napa Valley which is currently impressing on the world stage. As this collection shows, there are many impressive and delicious Californian red wines to explore throughout this beautiful corner of the world.

Cabernet Sauvignon

It is well-known by this stage how exquisite the Cabernet Sauvignons are that come out of the Californian wine making areas. Those aforementioned historic moments in the 70s and 80s were already indicators of this.
