Deep garnet in color, the 2010 D'Armailhac leaps from the glass with vivacious scents of baked raspberries, blueberry pie and kirsch plus hints of candied violets and pencil shavings. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has lovely energy with a lively backbone and well-played chewy tannins supporting the delicate flavors, finishing minerally."
The nose boasts bright aromas of blackberries with hints of cinnamon and clove from the oak. The palate is well balanced, with silky tannins, fresh acidity, concentrated fruit and a lifted finish. It is rare to find a Pauillac like this wine that is both affordable and approachable.
What a vintage! A complex nose with lots of present aromas. Intense floral notes of rose and violet as well as wild basil and rosemary. A lovely complex, savory, rounded palate. Flavours of strawberry, morello cherry and white tobacco. Fine and well-tuned, long and unctuous; well-structured, well-balanced and intense.
