A truly exotic delicacy, Sake is Japanese fermented short-grain rice wine, often considered the most potent and enjoyable alcoholic drink from the country. The art of sake making is extremely strict and all types of sake tend to fall into four set categories. At The Fine Wine Company we have taken time to source a range of quality sakes for you to enjoy and choose from.
The four sake categories are defined dependent on the percentage of rice polishing the grains have undergone and whether distilled alcohol has been added into the mix. The categories are called jumai, honjozo, ginjo and daiginjo. Sake is often enjoyed warm or heated but how you enjoy yours is entirely your personal choice. As you sample different sakes you may find you enjoy them differently and we hope perusing our range will ensure you find an offering to your liking.
The undiluted Honjozo Akashi-Tai is a satisfyingly full-bodied sake. This is the drink the brew masters reach for at the end of a working day. This is perhaps the most direct way to savour the full palate of our sake. The flavour continues to mellow pleasingly over time.
