A truly exotic delicacy, Sake is Japanese fermented short-grain rice wine, often considered the most potent and enjoyable alcoholic drink from the country. The art of sake making is extremely strict and all types of sake tend to fall into four set categories. The four sake categories are defined dependent on the percentage of rice polishing the grains have undergone and whether distilled alcohol has been added into the mix. The categories are called jumai, honjozo, ginjo and daiginjo. Sake is often enjoyed warm or heated but how you enjoy yours is entirely your personal choice.
