This spiced rum is based on the same blend of pot and column still rums as the original Chairman's Reserve Rum but is infused with Caribbean spices including cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, vanilla, coconut, allspice, lemon and orange as well as an extract of the bark of the Richeria Grandis tree.
Chairman's Reserve was created in 1999 and is so named due to being the project of then Chairman, Laurie Barnard. A blend of light and heavy rums aged in ex-Bourbon casts for an average of 5 years. The final liquid is then put back into casks to marry for a further six months prior to bottling.
Fresh clean nose with hints of butterscotch, boiled sweets & citrus. Complex & balanced palate with butterscotch, coconut, fresh clean raisin & fruit Nose of apple, fresh pineapple and a hint of sultana. The palate is ripe and balanced well between sweet and smooth (banana milkshake), dry (nut) and zesty (lime) with a rich finish.
