This wine is dark ruby in colour. It has lively cherry notes on the nose, a touch of liquorice and hints of black pepper. On the palate, it is full-bodied and the ripe tannins gently support the cherry, cassis and herb character on the finish.
The 2017 Cote Rotie was still in separate lots when I visited, yet I came away with remarkably similar impressions from the Gerine (fragrant charming and silky) and le Plomb (taut, intense and structural) as I did last year. The `Et La Banni�re` has aromas of fresh red fruits alongside a subtle smokiness and a hint of dried meat. The palate is elegant and fresh with flavours of red and black berries and smooth, round tannins. A delicate minerality and savoury notes carry through on the long finish.
This wine is deep crimson in colour, with aromas of strawberries and blackberries. On the palate, the wine has a velvety mouthfeel and fresh acidity. Redcurrant flavours continue through the mouthwatering finish.
