Fascinating wine- and quite delightful. Its full of glossy, charming, dark, cherry-like flavour, but bolted to these are notes of sap, ink, chocolate and fresh, slightly unripe plums. I mean all of these descriptors in a positive sense. Its a refreshing wine, yet complex and immediately appealing. Its a beautiful colour and a beautiful drink.
Honeysuckle and citrus scents are immediately apparent with slight aromas of nougat, roasted nuts and a sniff of strawberry from the Pinot Noir. Delicate fruits and creaminess wash through the mouth leaving a lingering finish of citrus and nougat.
Like Hens Teeth as far as availability goes but like nectar of the gods for fans of this peculiarly Australian wine style. Majellas fabulous Shiraz is bottle fermented like Champagne and then a little vintage port is added to give a well balanced sweet edge. One of Australia's best sparkling red wines. Spicy licquorice and slightly sweet.
Beautifully deep in colour with a persistent fine bead. The nose is an enticing mlange of chocolate, dark cherry, hints of spice, a touch of vanilla. A beautifully integrated and fully harmonious wine offering an explosion of flavour balanced by the complexity resulting from its time in the bottle.
