Niizawa Brewery

Niizawa Brewery is run by a fifth generation sake brewer, with the brewery president extremely proud to have kept his brewery going after over 150 years of sake production. The Niizawa Brewery is based in Osaki Miyagi and it underwent a huge change in 2011 after the Japanese earthquake, moving premises entirely thanks to breweries from across Japan chipping in to help Niizawa back on its feet.

Niizawa Brewery produces exclusively Japanese rice wine, sake, which can be enjoyed hot or cold and they have produced many different varieties of sake, including Tokubetsu Sake and Ginjo Sake. At the Fine Wine Company, we have included some examples from this miraculous brewery. The master brewer and president of the company has an unusual method of encouraging his employees to blind test and he also carries out this practice himself each day. With these exacting methods the end product is a fantastic example of how good sake can be.
