Attractive aromas of black currant and crunchy red fruit accompanied by notes spice. The palate is concentrated and very smooth with great crunchy red fruit character. The tannins are ripe and provide welcome grip and combined delicious acidity, leads to a balanced finish.
A beguiling nose, full of freshness, combining the floral aromatics of Riesling with the classic white pepper notes of Grner Veltliner along side green apple and pear. Incredibly balanced on the palate: vibrant and refreshing. Erich says this is 'probably the most drinkable wine in my whole portfolio'.
Where to start with this unique wine? A beautiful orange-tinted colour in the glass. On the nose it bursts with aromas reminiscent of fresh apricot, citra hops, peach skin and Braeburn apple which follow through to the palate. Incredibly refreshing on the palate with bright acidity and amazing flavour concentration. Dangerously drinkable.
A compelling nose of expresso, truffles, dark plums and blackcurrant with layers of aromatic intensity that remains fresh and lively. The palate is multi-layered, with masses of cassis and mixed spice, and a hint of chocolate.
Super saturated totally opaque inky black colour with very deep black crimson hue. The nose displays an impressive aromatic profile of blackberry, liquorice and dark plum followed by some vanillin confectionary, mocha and spice showing a touch more intensity than the Anaperenna at this stage of its early life. Imposing palate presence and richness, yet not over the top, combining finesse with powe…
Honeysuckle and citrus scents are immediately apparent with slight aromas of nougat, roasted nuts and a sniff of strawberry from the Pinot Noir. Delicate fruits and creaminess wash through the mouth leaving a lingering finish of citrus and nougat.
No tricks here, just a youthful and exquisite Sauvignon Blanc with prominent asparagus, mature peach and exotic fruit notes on the nose. Fresh and deliciously crisp with excellent natural acidity and a long citric and peach aftertaste as well as a rounded body and good structure.
Our preference for Chardonnay leans towards a style that is crisp, focused, taking care not to over deliver on fat and overripe fruit. We also steer clear of any oak flavouring looking to highlight pretty, floral aromas and uncomplicated fresh fruit flavours of peach.
Fashioned with the savoury, food friendly dry whites of Southern France in mind, the Woodcutters Semillon is the ideal tonic after a long day in the vineyard. This youthful Semillon offers delicate scents of calamansi, limestone, candle wax, and toasted brioche. Sourced from Torbrecks Kalimna, Rowland Flat & Seppeltsfield vineyards.
Full of freshness and bright youthful fruits, the 2017 vintage brings an elegance and class to the wines. Aromatic blackberries and raspberries with freshness and balance, the wine has a round central core of red fruit that gives way to a complex mid-palate full of cassis, dark cherry, spice and vanilla. While offering immense pleasure in its youth, the 2017 Woodcutters - Shiraz will certainly de…
Filius is the junior Cabernet from Vasse Felix's Margaret River vineyards. Made from 86% Cabernet Sauvignon with 14% Malbec aged n French oak, some of it new for 12 months. This is a more early dronking style but it is full dark scented fruit and cedary notes with the Mlabec adding a blueberry note and the merest hint of spice
Immediate nose of beetroot juice poured over graphite shavings sets you up for quite a journey. The palate shares the same dense minerality and graphite texture as the nose with a quiet but growing presence of forest floor and frozen berries. On opening, this fruit thaws to release fresh summer pudding and cream served in a pencil case. Bonkers!
A great vintage of this wine - powerful, concentrated and already well-knit but still youthful. Packed with intense black mulberry flavoured fruit and firm but smooth tannins, the ripe fruit makes this very drinkable now and it will continue to develop more complexity over the next 5 years.
Deep garnet,, the nose is a generous mix of stewed black fruits, warm toasted spices, dried fig and prune. The palate has fresher fruit with dried fruit characters which is complemented by vanilla and clove spice. The fine grain tannins give nice structure making this feel like a serious Zin.
A lovely bouquet of yellow peach and nectarine opens up to a musky floral and cinnamon spice nose. The palate is rich and rounded with a soft mealy character from the extended lees contact and a distinct pithy tangerine zest. The juicy nectarine characters give the palate a real fleshiness that finishes on a subtle spicy note.
Hugely lifted wild strawberry nose that follows through on the full, earthy palate. This immensely drinkable Pinot Noir demands a second bottle as much as a second glass and would sucker up to pink beef or duck amazingly well.
Lind & Lime Gin is the very first spirit produced by The Port of Leith Distillery Co at our Tower Street Stillhouse. Its still a couple of years before well be distilling whisky, so weve thrown our full and unbridled energy into creating a gin forged entirely from the talent, heritage and industry of Edinburgh and its historic distilling district of Leith. In everything that we produce, our wat…
Delicate garnet colour with peppery, strawberry fruit on the nose, the palate is light to medium-bodied with appealing nervy fruit and mouth-watering acidity balancing the dry tannins and elegant red fruit.
Highly aromatic. Creamy oak notes on the distinctive Vallet nose are overlaid with lemons and hints of cloves and vanilla bean paste. Surprisingly but pleasantly taught and savoury on the palate; the lemon zings through and the acidity is well judged.
