Zaccagnini

In 1973 Mario Zaccagnini established his winery in Staffolo, in the Marches. Winemaking was initially a hobby but as he achieved more acclaim for his wines, he realised that his passion could turn into his vocation.

More recently his daughter Rosella and his son in law Franco have joined him and now the Zaccagnini family have 25 hectares of vines in the rolling hills around Staffolo, 450 metres above sea level.

The distinctive microclimate and soil allows their winemaker, Alberto Musatti, to produce Verdicchio wines that are fullof character. The Salmagina is made from selected slightly over ripened grapes and then left in contact with its lees giving the wine an extra level of structure and elegance
