Orben

Orben is an exciting estate in Rioja Alavesa, made by the Anton family of Izadi. They own 75% of the 29-hectare vineyard, while the remaining 25% is owned by 50 diff erent top Spanish restaurants, all friends of the family out of a common passion for fi ne food and wine. Lying at the foot of the Sierra Cantabria mountain range, the Orben vineyards abut those of Izadi and are divided into 74 parcels of vines, each with their own peculiarity of microclimate. All the vines are aged between 50 and 60 years, with the resulting low yields giving great concentration and depth to the wine. The limestone and clay soils impart excellent minerality, while the altitude of the estate (around 450 metres above sea level) brings freshness to the intense, berried Rioja fruit.
