Cullen’s 28 hectares of vineyards are located in the Wilyabrup part of Margaret River, a region known for its premium cool-climate wines, with Cabernet, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon growing particularly well. Founded in 1966 by Di and Kevin Cullen, the winemaking is now managed by their daughter Vanya. Passion and a strong sense of responsibility to the land defi ne Vanya’s organic and biodynamic approach to viticulture, while pioneering environmental initiatives led to Cullen becoming Australia’s fi rst carbon neutral winery in 2007. Vanya’s philosophy is to make wines that best express the vineyard, with the maritime climate, rocky soils, dry farming and biodynamic practices combining to create the individual and diverse wine styles that characterise Cullen. Wines are now made exclusively from the Cullen Estate Vineyard and the Mangan Vineyard, both of which Vanya manages.
